F.A.Q

SVG means Scalable Vector Graphic. SVG files are also used for many applications like scalable web images. SVG cutting files are used by many crafters to cut basic and intricate pictures and objects on die-cutting machines. Before, crafters using die-cutting machines like Cricut were limited by proprietary designs. Evolved software technology now allows crafters to use SVG cutting files from any SVG designer on many of the most famous die-cutting machines.

All your purchases at Teesvg.com will be in a compressed format “zipped file”. Why? because Compressed files can be transferred to you more quickly and efficiently than uncompressed files and they take up less storage space.

To open your zipped file depends on the pc system that you use:

If you have a Mac:

You can find your purchase in your browser in the Downloads folder. Double-click the zipped file to open it and the uncompressed files will be revealed. Then copy the files and save them to your desktop or any folder that you want on your pc.

For Windows 7, 8, 10:

First, locate the zipped file that you have downloaded and you want to unzip (extract).

-To extract a single file or folder, open the zipped folder, then drag the file or folder from the zipped folder to the location that you want.

-To extract all the contents of the zipped folder, one-click then right-click the zipped file, then select extract files, choose the location that you want and press ok.

Yes, you can! But it’s complicated to deal with zipped files using a mobile. That’s why we recommand that you download all purchases from a computer. Note that you can purchase any zipped file with your mobile or tablet without any problem, just to download and use the file, it’s better to use a computer.

Files are available for PERSONAL and COMMERCIAL use. If you buy the personal use license, you can use each file you purchase to create any physical object to use personally or gift. However, the commercial use license means that you have the right to sell the completed cuts (no sharing or resale of the file itself), and you can create physical objects and products with it and sell them. You have unlimited prints, unlimited sales, and the design elements can be modified, re-sized, subtracted, and added.

However, If you buy a design Commercial use license and you want to publish it on POD marketplaces like Merch by Amazon, Etsy, Redbubble… Because many people buy the same design with the same license, it’s your responsibility to check if the same design exists on those marketplaces before and after buying it from Teesvg.com and before publishing it there. If it exists, you don’t have the right to publish it to avoid duplicate content that is not authorized on those marketplaces.

We verify trademarks and copyright before creating any design. But keep in mind that new trademarks appear every day, so you have to double-check it with USTPO.gov and google.com.

If you buy a design commercial use license and you want to print and sell on a product, you have to check the trademark of the design (1) compared to the product that you want to use. Let’s say that you bought a design commercial use license and you want to print on t-shirts and sell them, so you have to check the trademark for the t-shirts class witch is 25. The best place where to check trademarks if you sell in USA is USPTO.gov.

You have also to respect the intellectual property, so you can’t use any of our designs on TV, films, music videos, or any other broadcast productions above 100,000 views per month. The best way to check Copyrights is to make a search in google.com.

(1) By trademark of the design, we mean the design itself and also all that you will include in the listing like the brand, title, description…

This will depend on the machine that you use, and how do you plan to use the files.  Let’s break it down:

*Cricut Explore, Explore Air Machines and Explore One:

The Explore series accepts both physical cartridges, as well as digital files via Cricut Design Space. All of our listings here at Teesvg are compatible with Design Space, using the SVG file.

*Silhouette Cameo, Portrait Machines and Curio:

The Silhouette Cameo, Portrait machines and Curio all use Silhouette Studio software, which is broken down into two editions: Basic and Designer.

*Silhouette Studio Basic Edition:

This software is free to download and comes with your machine. If you use the Basic Edition of Silhouette Studio, you have to use the DXF file included in the listings here. Please note that these files will take more time to cut on your machine, and can sometimes result in a slightly less “clean” cut than the SVG files. This is due to the makeup of the file type itself, and it’s not a reflection on the quality of the design. Also, DXF files will show up in your software as lines only, without any colored fill. They are ready to cut, but, if you wish to view the colors on screen before cutting, you will need to manually fill these in.

*Silhouette Studio Designer and Business Edition:

This is a paid upgrade to the basic software that came with your machine. We recommend you to purchase this upgrade, as it enables you to use the SVG files included in the listings we offer. Using SVG results in cuts that are faster, cleaner and easier to manage visually, as each layer loads in full color.

*Brother ScanNCutCanvas:

The ScanNCutCanvas program is compatible with all our listings using the SVG files included in your download.

*Sure Cuts A Lot:

The Sure Cuts A Lot program is compatible with all our listings using the SVG files included in your download.

*Make the Cut!

The Make the Cut! software is compatible with all our listings using the SVG files included in your download.

*Cricut Expression 1 and Expression 2 Machines:

The Expression series operates primarily with physical cartridges that you plug into the machine, as well as with an online portal called Cricut Craft Room. Please be aware that Craft Room can only use .ccr file types, which Cricut and Provo Craft have exclusive distribution rights to. So, you can’t use any of the files sold here at Teesvg with Craft Room.

However, the Expression machines can be connected to a program called Sure Cuts A Lot, which can use SVG files, which we offer in all of our listings. If you have this program, please ensure that you have verified that the version that you have works with your machine before purchasing any files. Currently, only Versions 1 and 2 will transfer files to an Expression machine.

*Standard Printers:

Both the JPEG and PNG files in our listings can be printed with any standard printer, should you wish to make a framed print of our work, or print it with iron-on transfer paper.

Many designs are composed of two or more layers. Each element of the design will be in a layer, but we may also group elements by colors. It’s depending on the nature of the design itself and what we think is better for the user according to our experience.

If you wish to ungroup layered files, you can do so by following these steps:

*Cricut Design Space:

A/ Open the SVG file on your design mat and click on the Layers Panel.

B/ Click anywhere in the design to select it. All the individual layers in the Layers Panel will be highlighted.

C/ With the layers still highlighted, click the Ungroup button on the bottom of the Panel.

D/ You can now work with each layer individually.

PS: if you plan to resize your design, you must do so before ungrouping, so everything remains in proportion.

*Silhouette Studio Designer Edition:

A/ Open the SVG file on your design mat, select Edit, Layers in the top menu bar. This will open the layers menu on the right side of the screen.

B/ You will see that there is a main layer, with a series of layers detailed below. Click on each layer to move it individually.

More complex designs can have sub-groups within the layers, particularly ones with multiple layers of the same color. In this case, you will see that one of the layers will be labeled Group on the panel. When you click on these layers on the design mat, just right-click to further ungroup and reveal the sub-layers below.

PS: if you plan to resize your design, you must do so before ungrouping, so everything remains in proportion.

*Brother ScanNCutCanvas:

Open the SVG file on your design mat, right-click on the design, and select Ungroup.

PS: if you plan to resize your design, you must do so before ungrouping, so everything remains in proportion.

*Sure Cuts A Lot:

Open the SVG file on your design mat, right-click on the design, and select Ungroup.

PS: if you plan to resize your design, you must do so before ungrouping, so everything remains in proportion.

Unlike SVG files, DXF files are composed solely of lines, and don’t contain any fill information. Because of this, we need to tell Studio which lines go with which letter before welding by making each letter a compound shape. To do this, you need to click and drag around each letter individually, right click, and select compound shape. Once all of your letters are compound shapes, you can then position them and weld them.

This can happen when you have the program set to merge the layers. You have to right-click, and ungroup the image. Then you will be able to access all of the layers and recolor them as you want.

*refunds & returns:

Due to the electronic nature of digital downloads, these files are not “returnable”. As such, we do not offer refunds or exchanges for any reason. That’s why, we ask that you take the time to verify that you are purchasing file types that will work with your machine, and for your needs. However, if you run into any issues, please contact us and we will do our very best to help, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase.

*Cancel an order:

Once you have completed your order and received the order confirmation e-mail, we are unable to cancel and or make any changes towards your order.

*Discounts:

If you have a discount code, make sure that it’s applied before checkout. We are not responsible for any discount code not applied during checkout.
